PRESENTATION SKILLS

OBJECTIVES
• Understand effective communication & presentation methods
• Discover and value ones own competencies as an individual
• This presentation skills course is designed to assist people to be the most confident and effective speaker they can be as well as providing insight into the dynamics of effective presentation
• To motivate and stimulate effective and rewarding habits

COURSE CONTENT
DAY 1:
• The art of communicating
• Stages of learning & speaking
• Key factors of effective communication
• Verbal, vocal, visual
• Key elements of interpersonal communication:
Eye communication/Posture and movement/Gestures & facial communication/Dress codes & appearance/Voice control/Non-verbal communication/Effective listening/Using Humour/Be yourself, etc.

DAY 2
• Clear Priorities
• Dealing with difficult situations
• Self knowledge
• Communication Skills
• Define challenges & Problems
• Evaluate a successful communication process

DAY 3 (or 2):
• Presentation Assignment (Optional)

TARGET AUDIENCE
• People who want to develop their ability to understand and implement effective presentation skills


PURPOSE
• To equip people with knowledge and skills to gain a better understanding of the concepts of communication & presentations
• To expand communication abilities within individuals or teams

LEARNING OUTCOMES
After completion of this workshop, you will understand and be able to demonstrate how to:
• Communicate with confidence and poise
• Harness the power of body language and vocal projection
• Be highly motivated to increase personal growth
• Stimulate effective and rewarding habits
• Develop new and fresh solutions on how to present effectively

DURATION & IMPLEMENTATION
1, 2 or 3 days:
• 1 or 2 days interactive workshop
• 1 day feedback/assignments (Optional)

PRESENTATION STYLE
Highly interactive and participative facilitation methods and techniques to enable delegates to gain experiential learning through lecture presentations, group work, role plays and case studies

RESOURCE REQUIREMENTS
• The workshop will take place at the clients Venue or at a venue mutually selected by the relevant representatives
• Venue requirements: Board room/Training Room with tables, chairs and water on the tables
• Learning aids requirements: Whiteboard and/or flipchart with pens, data projector

ASSESSMENT METHODS
• Knowledge assessment: Both written and verbal assignments during the learning programme/workshops. (Day 1 and/or 2)
• Competence assessment: 1 practical assignment to assess applicable skills & knowledge. (Day 2 or 3)
